Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw's second half strike wasn't enough to prevent Jamaica from falling to a 2-1 international friendly defeat against Paraguay.

The Reggae Girlz had claimed a one-goal victory over their South American opponents earlier in the international break, with Alysson Swaby grabbing a stoppage time winner in Montego Bay.

But after a strong finish to their previous encounter, Shaw and co. suffered a slow start in Kingston.

Goals from Fabiola Sandoval and Ramona Martinez handed the visitors a two-goal lead at half-time.

However, Shaw’s fine form in front of goal this season continued when she halved the deficit from the spot on the hour.

The Jamaica captain has now scored in 10 of her 11 appearances for Club and country so far this season, having recently been named the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month for October.

It was her 55th strike for the Reggae Girlz but, on this occasion, it wasn’t enough to spark a late comeback.

CITY V UNITED: ETIHAD DERBY

City welcome Manchester United to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 11 December.

Kick-off is scheduled for 12:30 (UK), with tickets selling fast for our third-ever women’s match at the Etihad.

With over 30,000 tickets already sold, it promises to be another historic occasion.
