City striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been nominated for the 2022/23 PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

The clinical Jamaican forward’s sensational exploits across last term have seen her placed on the six-person shortlist for the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Bunny enjoyed a truly wonderful season in sky blue last year by scoring a staggering 31 goals in 30 games, meaning she struck at a rate higher than once per game.

This record is even more impressive when factoring in her nine assists in all competitions, handing her a superb 40 goal involvements across the term.

Bunny netted 20 of those goals in the WSL, two in as many UEFA Women’s Champions League matches, two in two Continental Cup fixtures and a fantastic seven in three FA Cup appearances.

Thanks to her phenomenal achievements in front of goal, she historically became the Club’s highest scoring Women’s player in a single season.

What’s more, her immense season didn’t finish here, as she was named the 2022 Concacaf Player of the Year and claimed our Player and Goal of the Year prizes before penning a new deal at the Club.

Since its inception in 2012/13, the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award has represented the player who is voted to have had the best year in English women’s football.

Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate Bunny on her nomination and wish her the very best of luck when the award winner is announced on Tuesday 29 August.
