Manchester City are delighted to announce the signing of Laura Blindkilde Brown from Aston Villa.

The 20-year-old has joined the Club from our Barclays Women’s Super League rivals on a deal until the summer of 2027.

Blindkilde Brown has forged a reputation as one of the WSL’s most exciting young talents since signing her first professional contract with Villa in September 2021.

A dynamic attacking midfielder, she went on to make over 50 senior appearances for Carla Ward’s side and was named the Villans’ Player of the Year in each of the last two seasons.

The 20-year-old has also represented England at various youth levels, turning out for the Lionesses’ Under-19s alongside new City team-mates Khiara Keating and Ruby Mace.

But now the youngster will link up with Gareth Taylor’s side and provide another injection of quality as we continue our pursuit of silverware in 2023/24.

Speaking about the move, Blindkilde Brown said: “I’m really excited to be here. It’s a big step in my career but I’m really excited to see what comes.

“It’s a new challenge for me. Obviously, I’ve been at Villa a lot of my career but it’s something new and I’ll be training with some of the best players in the world.

“I think the style of play here is really suited to me. Hopefully it just develops me even more in my career.”

City manager Gareth Taylor added: “Laura is an emerging talent. She is someone we have been monitoring for some time and have always been impressed whenever we’ve watched her play.

“I am looking forward to seeing her continue to flourish.”

Everyone at Manchester City is excited to work with Laura and would like to welcome her to the Club.
