Riding the crest of the wave from Sunday’s Women’s FA Cup win at Wembley, City produced a professional and clinical display to clinch our second win of two in the Conti Cup Group C.
Coombs hailed another fine team performance, adding she hopes the weekend’s triumph will springboard the Club to further silverware.
“We were really happy on Sunday,” she reflected. “We’d had a mixed start but hopefully, that will kickstart our season.
“The performances have been there but we’ve just been lacking goals at times.
“It was a great performance against Everton – they took us all the way – so we were super happy to get the first trophy of the season.
“Credit to the girls who played on Sunday – their fitness levels were really good and carried us through.
