The City pair were instrumental in front of goal for Andrée Jeglertz’s side as we ended the first month of the campaign with five wins from five.
Our month began with a tense 3-1 victory over Birmingham City at the Joie Stadium, before a gutsy performance in our 4-1 triumph over Aston Villa at Villa Park.
The Blues completed the month with a dramatic 4-2 win over Liverpool followed by securing a 1-0 victory against newly promoted Charlton Athletic.
Across September, Shaw grabbed three goals in four matches, picking up where she left off from last season, having won the WSL Golden Boot for a record third successive season.
Shaw also grabbed an assist in what has been a superb start to the latest campaign.
And it was a month to remember for Hemp too, as she reached 200 City appearances in our opening win over Birmingham.
But it didn’t stop there as she assisted City’s third goal against Aston Villa, her 48th in the league.
She was also unlucky to see our fourth go down as an own goal after her effort took a deflection en route to the Villa net.
Alongside her goal tally, she became just the seventh player in WSL history to reach a century of goal involvements, and then added to her goalscoring total with a brace against Liverpool at the Joie Stadium.
The City duo are nominated alongside Olivia Holdt (Tottenham Hotspur), Lauren James (Chelsea), Victoria Pelova (Tottenham Hotspur), Danielle van de Donk (London City Lionesses).
