Kelly Chambers’ side took the lead when Sanne Troelsgaard struck past Ellie Roebuck within the first minute, but Chloe Kelly responded, poking home Hemp’s cross with 15 minutes played.
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw sent us into the lead, heading home from a corner before Hemp added our third less than a minute into the second half.
Steph Houghton rounded off the scoring with a well-taken free kick, sending us to within three points of leaders Manchester United.
Hemp reflected positively on how Gareth Taylor‘s side responded after an early setback.
She said: “It shows a lot of character from the whole squad.”
“We’ve stuck with the same process throughout the season, we are getting better and better.
“It is about sticking to the same process, it’s important we showed the character.”
The win over the Royals secured a vital three points and boosted our goal difference in a tight title race in the Women’s Super League.
We moved to within three points of league leaders Manchester United and four clear of reigning champions Chelsea, and Hemp is relishing the high stakes.
“We are privileged to be in a pressure situation, it’s important we use this pressure to our advantage.”
“The main thing is we are focussing on ourselves, the league has shown us that anything can happen.
“It is going to come down to the final few games, we are feeling good as a team it’s exciting to be a part of.
“The main focus is three points and how many goals can we score, it’s important we are clinical.”
“We know goal difference will be important come the end of the season, we could’ve been a lot more clinical but got the three points so nothing but positive.”
