We were pegged back just over 10 minutes later when Katie Stengel stole the ball deep in the City half before sliding beyond the advancing Ellie Roebuck.
While we didn’t have it all our own way from there, Raso’s 75th minute ensured the points would stay in Manchester.
And for Taylor, that was exactly what was required.
“Liverpool are a well organised team that work really hard and fight until the end,” he said in his post-match press conference.
“This team are always there. They won’t give up. They were always going to make it a difficult game.
“This was a vital three points. It was all about the win today. I would love it if we played really good football and there were moments when we did but that’s easy to say from the sidelines.”
The victory takes City into fourth in the Barclays Women’s Super League as the recovery continues following a slow start to the campaign.
Taylor admitted his side weren’t at their best on the day but with options like today’s match-winner Raso to call upon, he knows his players are raring to go whenever they are required.

“We were looking at potentially getting more on,” he said.
“Sometimes you don’t want to disrupt it. They’re used to the game and bringing someone on is difficult.
“But their attitude is brilliant and we have really good options while most of the players are fit other than Alanna, Ruby and Vicky. It’s about contributing as a whole squad.”
