Lucy Bronze has been voted the FA Women’s Super League (FA WSL) Player of the Month for February.

It was an excellent period for Manchester City, who maintained a 100% record with three wins from as many games and our right-back was instrumental in our success.

Gareth Taylor’s side recorded impressive victories over fellow top four teams Arsenal and Manchester United before a convincing 4-0 win away at Birmingham City to keep us in contention for the league title.

We ended the month having scored nine goals, conceding just once and in Bronze we had a player who stood out at both ends of the pitch.

The 29-year-old was on target as we took all three points in the Manchester Derby, netting a fine volley from inside a crowded penalty area and she helped City keep a clean sheet against the Gunners and Birmingham.

Bronze beat the on loan Jill Scott, Reading’s Natasha Harding and Brighton’s Aileen Whelan to Ferbuary’s prize.

Everyone at City congratulates Lucy on this award and wishes her all the best for the rest of the season.
