City returned to action following the winter break in style, with Kerolin and Vivianne Miedema sealing all three points.
It was our 11th success in a row in the WSL, and ensured we remained six points clear at the summit ahead of a busy run of fixtures.
This was our third match against Everton this season and, despite winning both of those previous assignments in the League Cup and WSL, the Toffees had made life difficult for Andrée Jeglertz’s side on both occasions.

The Toffees’ last away fixture had also seen them end Chelsea’s 34-match unbeaten WSL run, but Kerolin’s excellent solo effort midway through the first half set the tone for a deserved, albeit hard-fought, win for City.
Miedema then made it two just after the hour mark, latching into a Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw pass over the Everton defence before firing in from close-range to seal the points.
City could even potentially have won by a larger scoreline but for the heroics of Courtney Brosnan in the visiting goal, who made excellent saves to deny Shaw and Alex Greenwood in particular.
But the Blues had already done enough for the win, and began what could be an exciting year in the best possible fashion.
