TEAM NEWS

Gareth Taylor says Khiara Keating is fine to face West Ham United in the WSL on Sunday.

Speaking in his press conference, he said: “She’s [Keating] fine, she came back from England duty just as a precaution.

“She’s had an ongoing knee issue but we’ve been managing it. It’s fine, we felt it was the right call to protect her.

“And with that situation it was unlikely she was going start, so it didn’t make sense to push her too much in the training demands of England.

“It was an easy conversation to have with Sarina Wiegman and Khiara was good throughout.

“She’s been back in training with us since. We were fortunate enough to get Katie in from Brighton who’s trained with us all this week. She’s done really well and been a good addition for us.”

Aside from long-term absentees Ellie Roebuck, Sandy MacIver and Jill Roord, only Kerstin Casparij, who is serving a one-match ban, is unavailable for City.

LAST TIME OUT

City signed off before April’s international break with a clinical 4-1 win away at Liverpool.

Lauren Hemp opened the scoring before our lead was then doubled shortly after when Jess Park danced into the box and fired home.

Then, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw unleashed a thunderous rocket into the top corner from 25-yards before she extended our advantage further with a close-range header after the interval.

Taylor Hinds reduced the deficit on the cusp of full-time – but it did little to dampen sky blue spirits.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Taylor’s team opened the 2023/24 campaign with a fine 2-0 win in October’s reverse fixture at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

Jill Roord scored on her debut for the Club after Lauren Hemp broke the deadlock shortly after half-time.
