Gareth Taylor says Alex Greenwood is available for Sunday’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

The England defender has been out since clashing heads on international duty and has missed the games against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Brighton.

Now Greenwood is in line to play against the side she spent the 2018/19 campaign with for the historic first clash of the Manchester giants at Old Trafford.

“Alex is good,” said Taylor at his Friday press briefing.

“She’s trained for the last two days and it’s good to have her back in because we have missed her leadership and the quality she brings.

“Having Alex back is great for us.

“She’s gone through all the checks and she’s fine and available for the weekend.”

Regarding the rest of the squad, Taylor added: “We have good availability in terms of players who can be selected.

“Training has been good, and players are looking sharp.”

Taylor says his team are well aware of the threat United pose, particularly on home soil.

He says his players are well prepared as the Blues look to bounce back from losses against Arsenal and Brighton.

“Of course we identify who the danger is,” said Taylor.

“We look at where we might prosper best when we have the ball.

“I think they have good players, but so do all WSL teams and we always make sure we know where the danger is.

“They recruited well in the summer and being ready for the unpredictability is always something we need to be prepared for.

“It’s more about us and what we do. When we’ve been good its down to us, and when we have been bad, again, it’s been down to us.”
