Deyna Castellanos was one of seven players to join the Club in pre-season, making the move from Atletico Madrid after a two-year association with Las Rojiblancas.

And it was the 23-year-old’s goalscoring exploits in Spain, at Escuela de Futbol Juan Arango in her homeland and at university in the United States at Florida State Seminoles which sees her considered one of world football’s most exciting talents.

Castellanos’ record of 48 strikes in 82 appearances in the US saw FIFA shortlist her in the final three nominees for the 2017 FIFA Best Women’s Player of the Year award, making her the youngest ever to be nominated.
