The Jamaica international had a hand in both goals during our 2-1 success over Everton, as she assisted Julie Blakstad’s opener before restoring our lead in the second half.
By showcasing her poacher’s instinct to rifle home Laura Coombs’ rebounded effort, she increased her haul of Barclays Women’s Super League goals to eight this term, while extending her goalscoring run to five consecutive games.
This represents her best period in front of goal for the Club, while she’s currently the league’s top scorer.
And Shaw revealed her form is a product of the momentum Gareth Taylor’s side is building.
“It [my form] is good. It comes with momentum, when you have momentum you have confidence. Credit to the girls, they see me and they always try to find me.
“Yeah [I enjoyed it]. It was very competitive. I think Everton came with a game plan and they stuck to it.
“Credit to them, but we wanted to come out here and put on the offensive and get the three points.”
Midway through the first half, Bunny thought she had given us the lead when she broke clear of the defence and coolly slotted home, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
It would have been the just rewards for the striker’s start to the game where she looked lively in both chance creation and testing Everton’s ‘keeper herself.
But City’s striker respects the official’s decision.
She added: “I will have to go back and check that [offside]! I was looking across the line but it’s the referee’s call and it is what it is at the end of the day.”
