The Merseysiders have been one of the surprise packages in the first part of the FA WSL campaign, losing just two of their opening 10 games and are currently sitting in fifth in the table.
The City boss has been impressed by Liverpool’s progress and is expecting a physical, uncompromising clash at the Joie Stadium.
“They’ve made a good start,” said Taylor.

“They’re a very aggressive side and you can see that when they don’t have the ball.
“It’s quite risky obviously to be that aggressive, and it is super difficult to play like that because we’ve tried it in our game and sometimes teams can exploit the space you leave.
“You can’t control all phases with and without the ball, but they’ve done well,
“Matt Beard has been around a long time and done well there; he knows the club and league really well.
“They are improving all the time; their squad transfer business has been good, and it is a difficult game for us, there’s no doubt about that..
“We’ve played them quite a bit recently, and we need to be in top form in all areas to be successful in this game.”
City resume our FA WSL campaign in second spot in the table, trailing leaders Chelsea by three points.
And with Chelsea hosting Manchester United ahead of the Blues’ 14:30 (UK) kick-off on Sunday, a win for Taylor’s side and a Chelsea loss could see City go top.
Taylor is not think about anything other than the task in hand, however.
Liverpool have proved a tough nut to crack this campaign, conceding just 11 goals and when asked whether the visitors were capable of mounting a challenge to finish in the top four, Taylor said: “I don’t see why not.
“Sometimes when you look at the make-up of the league, there are teams who are expected to be up there, or in mid table or fighting relegation.
“Sometimes you can be the architect of your own success. Leicester made a good start and are now a different proposition.
“Aston Villa are still a good team, despite some of their results.
“Liverpool will always cause teams problems, and I don’t see why they can’t be up there.
“It’s important to have consistency, so keeping Matt on board and keeping a nucleus of a squad to be more successful is really important.”
The only snippet of team news the boss revealed was that “Alanna (Kennedy) is really close” to a return.
The Australian international has resumed training and Taylor added, “We’ll decide tomorrow if she’s close enough to return to the squad,” and said there were no fresh issues after the 4-0 win over Durham last weekend.
