There was no lack of Monday motivation for Gareth Taylor’s City squad as they got back down to work at the CFA.

It may have been a wet and dank start to the week weather wise, but there was an extra sunny spring in the step of the City players in the wake of last Saturday’s memorable 3-1 Etihad derby triumph over Manchester United.

Not only did an 11th straight league win ensure the derby bragging rights remained on the Blue half of Manchester, this latest win also maintained City’s push for a first Barclays Women’s Super League title since 2016.

And some familiar faces were also on hand to salute the players as City got back down to business with the focus now firmly trained on next Sunday’s latest league clash away at Liverpool.

Men’s first team duo Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne both took time out of their training routines to offer the City players their own personal greetings.

And there was also a visit from former City and United States star Sam Mewis who was also present at the Etihad at the weekend to witness our latest derby win.

Happy Mondays indeed!
