Saturday’s showdown away to Marc Skinner’s side represents the first derby of the new campaign, with City currently holding local bragging rights after a memorable victory at the Academy Stadium in our previous outing against the Reds in February 2021.
It’s been a difficult start to the season for Gareth Taylor’s side, but a statement victory against our neighbours would help to kickstart our campaign ahead of the international break.
The boss revealed in his pre-match press conference that he has no fresh injury concerns for our trip to the Leigh Sports Village, and insists the squad are in good spirits ahead of what he described as the ‘perfect’ fixture for City.
