The opener came from the spot on 21 minutes, Katie Zelem squeezing the ball past Khiara Keating after Alex Greenwood had been adjudged to have handled Melvine Malard’s effort.
But City came back in style to secure all three points.

Jill Roord finished expertly inside the box on 34 minutes before Lauren Hemp produced a world-class finish moments later after being teed up by Bunny Shaw.
It was our star striker who put the game beyond United’s reach in the second half as she pounced with the decisive effort on 55 minutes.
Laia Aleixandri was dismissed on 72 minutes, setting up what could have been a very nervy finish.
But City held our nerve and defended stoutly to earn a thoroughly deserved three-point haul to lift us to third in the WSL table.
