Manchester City can confirm defender Naomi Layzell has undergone successful hip surgery this week and will now commence rehabilitation with the club’s medical team.

The 21-year-old last featured for the Blues in our Subway Women’s League Cup group match with Newcastle on 19 October.

That penalties victory over the Magpies represented her fifth appearance in 2025/26 – helping us to an extra point at Gateshead International Stadium.

She then joined up with England Under-23s for the following international break and suffered the issue during the Young Lionesses’ camp on 27 October.

After successful surgery, she will now work closely with the Club’s medical team to ensure a full return to fitness.

Everyone at City would like to wish Naomi the best during her rehabilitation process.
