Deyna Castellanos was on target again for Venezuela in a 2-0 win over Peru in the Copa America Femenina.

City’s exciting new summer signing – who scored the only goal against Uruguay in Venezuela’s first tournament game – opened the scoring on 38 minutes as she chased a poor back pass before coolly rounding the keeper and rolling the ball into the empty net.

Played at the Estadio Centenario in Colombia, Oriana Altuve added a second for La Vinotinto on 68 minutes to double the advantage and secure a 2-0 win.

Venezuela are now second in Group B behind leaders Brazil, with three teams tied on six points at the top.

Argentina, in third, have played one game more.

Venezuela are looking to improve on their best ever finish of third which they achieved in the inaugural Copa America Femenina in 1991.
