City’s Poppy Pritchard was on target to help England Under-19s open their EURO 2024 second round qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Switzerland Under-19s in Queluz, Portugal.
The young forward broke the deadlock to fire the Young Lionesses into a 34th minute lead.
Alexia Potter of Crystal Palace then doubled England’s advantage, as the Swiss defence was breached again two minutes shy of the hour.
Pritchard then made way on 67 minutes with England comfortably seeing out the rest of the game to get their A3 group campaign off to the ideal start.
Pritchard and her Under-19 colleagues are next in action on Saturday, April 6 when they tackle Portugal’s Under-19s, kick-off 18.00 (UK).
