The United States international and World Cup winner has arrived in Manchester following her move from National Women’s Soccer League outfit North Carolina Courage and joined up with Gareth Taylor’s squad at the City Football Academy on Saturday morning.

Mewis was greeted by typically wet Manchester weather as she familiarised herself with new surroundings ahead of a potential first appearance against Everton.
City host the Toffees in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Academy Stadium on Sunday 23 August, as Taylor continues to prepare his squad for the season opener against Chelsea in next weekend’s Community Shield at Wembley Stadium.
