Our attacking trident were in typically impressive form across a month in which City won both of our Barclays Women’s Super League matches.
Indeed, Hemp, Shaw and Kelly either scored or assisted every one of our strikes against Leicester City and Arsenal, as Gareth Taylor‘s side continued our title pursuit.
After being frustrated by the Foxes in the first half at the King Power Stadium, Shaw headed home Laura Coombs‘ cross to hand City a deserved lead - her 10th goal in 11 WSL appearances at the time.
Kelly would double the advantage with an unstoppable curling drive, a goal which was also nominated for Goal of the Month.
A similarly comprehensive display followed seven days later, when goals from Hemp and Kelly set City on our way to a crucial 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Academy Stadium.
The pair combined once again for the opening goal inside four minutes, with Hemp smashing home from close-range, before Kelly fired home a quickfire second from Shaw’s cutback on the stroke of half-time.
City’s unbeaten league run now stands at 12 matches, with our attacking trio at the centre of that success.
They face stiff competition from Leicester goalkeeper Janina Leitzig, Aston Villa’s Kirsty Hanson and Manchester United’s Ona Batlle for the award.
