Steph Houghton is celebrating yet another City milestone, having made her 200th Club appearance on Sunday against Everton.

The City and England captain has become the first female player to reach a ‘double century’, also having been the first to mark 100 back in January 2018!

The landmark is merely the latest achievement in a season already glittered with impressive milestones, with the centre-back having created more history by becoming the first player to hit 150 FA Women’s Super League appearances, as well as 100 wins in the competition.

Reflecting on her latest accomplishment, the skipper says she could not be more proud.

“To play 200 games for this Club is a huge privilege and the fact I’ve been here from the start makes it even more special,” she smiled.

“I feel I’ve given absolutely everything - 110% - every single day to be the best professional and best captain I can be.

“Hopefully, there’ll be a lot more to come!”

Admired for her inspirational leadership, commitment and selflessness, Houghton has played an integral role in City’s success, since joining from Arsenal on New Year’s Day 2014.

During our seven years as a professional outfit, she has lifted seven trophies: three FA Cups, three Continental Cups and an FA WSL title, having also guided her side to successive Champions League semi-finals.

Ahead of Sunday’s clash with Everton, she had won 148 of her 200 games, keeping 104 clean sheets in the process.

Meanwhile, her on-pitch contributions transcend her defensive capabilities. The centre-back has netted 18 goals - 13 of those her trademark free-kicks.

Congratulations, skip, on another outstanding achievement!
