We welcome the Londoners to the Etihad Stadium for one of the most hotly anticipated fixtures in the WSL calendar, which pits the league’s top scorers against its toughest defence.
It’s a match which showcases the biggest names on the biggest stage, and there’s plenty of unmissable action going on away from the pitch too.
With over 20 million record sales, 10 UK Top Ten singles and two UK number-one tracks, The Wanted 2.0 will kick off the action with a stage live performance inside the stadium.
Founding members Max George – a lifelong City fan – and Siva Kaneswaran bring the group, who attract almost seven million monthly listeners on Spotify, back to the stage for the first time in 2026 ahead of our top two clash with Chelsea.
Carrying forward the legacy of The Wanted following the heartbreaking passing of bandmate Tom Parker in 2022, The Wanted 2.0 continue to honour their past while looking firmly to the future, touring and releasing new music for fans old and new.
After a planned show in February of last year was postponed due to Max George’s recovery from heart surgery, this will be their first gig of 2026 and the first time they’ve performed in Manchester since 2022.
Supporters inside the stadium can expect to hear some of their chart-topping hits such as “Glad You Came” and “All Time Low” performed live before kick-off to help set the tone for a huge afternoon of football.
You can watch the live performance with your match ticket, meaning you can watch the return of The Wanted 2.0 and watch the top-of-the-table clash against Chelsea from £15 for adults and £5 for Under 16s.
With world-class football on the pitch, live music in the stadium starting at 14:00 and a matchday experience like no other, this promises to be more than just a game.
Stay tuned on Friday for further details and the other incredible activities on offer before, during and after our WSL clash with Chelsea.
