After resting up after training, the squad made the short journey over to Hudayriyat Island for Open Training, in front of the fans.
Girls aged 3-18 living in the UAE had taken part in a number of football-based activities across the day but held on to watch their heroes in action.
The team were met by an incredible reception as they took to the pitch, before taking a photo with the UAE Women’s National Team, who were at the ground to watch the session.
After that, it was time for action, with every flick, trick and goal met with a burst of applause or excited chatter from the stands.
It was fans’ first chance to see Rebecca Knaak in action, and the defender more than stepped up to that occasion.
Calm on the ball, athletic and with a keen eye for anticipating danger, she looks like she could be a fantastic acquisition.
Among some other impressive moments, Vivianne Miedema’s vicious effort into the top corner drew a massive cheer from the fans, as did an excellent diving save from Ayaka Yamashita.
And towards the end of the session, an incredible touch from Naomi Layzell, effortlessly plucking the ball out of the air at shoulder height also got the fans on their feet.
Once training was over, the players took time to meet the supporters, taking photos and signing shirts for well over 30 minutes.
Elsewhere, Khiara Keating also received December’s Etihad Player of the Month award, posing for a photo with the trophy pitchside before a quick chat with presenter, FG.
