City youngster Codie Thomas is set to make her senior debut for the Club in the UEFA Women’s Champions League against St Polten.

Gareth Taylor’s side are aiming to extend our unbeaten start to the season to eight matches in all competitions in Wednesday’s 17:45 (UK) kick-off in Vienna.

City began our European campaign with a 2-0 win over Champions League holders Barcelona in front of a record Joie Stadium crowd last week, currently sitting second in Group D.

But our latest clash will be a particularly special moment for young defender, Thomas.

The 18-year-old joined the Club back in 2016 and has since worked her way through the ranks to become a regular in our matchday squads this season.

Having already featured in behind closed doors friendlies for Gareth Taylor’s side, Thomas was one of four academy starlets to join the squad on our Australia pre-season Tour.

The full-back came off the bench in both of our fixtures Down Under, playing 30 minutes against Leicester before a late cameo against Paris Saint-Germain.

She’s also gained senior exposure while on a dual registration at AFC Fylde last season, a pathway in which Khiara Keating has previously tasted success earlier in her career.

An energetic right-back who combines tenacity off the ball with quality on it, Thomas is an exciting and highly rated talent who is sure to go from strength to strength.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Codie on her senior debut and wish her the best of luck!
