City starlet Lily Murphy has put pen to paper on her maiden professional contract with the Club.

Signing alongside fellow Academy graduate, Codie Thomas, the blisteringly quick winger has committed her future to the Club after consistently featuring in Gareth Taylor’s side’s senior squads this term.

Her Joie Stadium journey began in 2022 where she joined our youth team ranks where she relentlessly worked and patiently rose through our ranks.

The 18-year-old possesses versatility and ability beyond her teenage years and she is already renowned for her electric speed – so much so, she’s already represented England both at youth football team level and as a sprinter.

After impressing at the City Football Academy, she gained vital senior experience last term during a duel registration with Stoke City where her performances earned a first Lionesses Under-19s call-up – and she’ll be aiming to build on her taste of professional at this stage of her fledgling career.

Following her time with the Potters, she was included in City’s squad for our pre-season tour of Australia having featured for our senior team in behind closed doors friendlies.

A senior debut followed in our superb 5-0 Champions League qualifying win over Paris FC and has since made two substitute appearances for the Blues in the Barclays Women’s Super League and a further two outings in Europe.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Lily on her maiden professional contract and wish her the best of luck.
