The City midfielder was introduced at half-time as the World Cup quarter-finalists ended the latest international break with a 2-0 win in Sao Paulo.
After finishing on the wrong end of a 4-3 thriller against the South American nation earlier in the week, Hasegawa and co. had too much for the hosts.
Indeed, a quickfire double from Moeka Minami and Mina Tanaka saw Japan take control midway through the first half, with just two minutes separating both goals.
Hasegawa replaced West Ham United’s Honoka Hayashi at the break, with her typical mix of quality on the ball and tenacity off it helping her nation see out an impressive victory.
The midfielder has enjoyed an impressive start to the 2023/24 campaign, featuring in all but one of our fixtures in all competitions so far.
She’ll now return to the City Football Academy ahead of our return to Barclays Women’s Super League action, when we face Aston Villa on Saturday 9 December.
Kick-off is set for 12:00 (UK) with the match available to watch live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
