City midfielder Yui Hasegawa has put pen to paper and extended her stay at the Club until the summer of 2027.

The City number 25 joined the Club in the summer of 2022 from West Ham and has gone to become one of the best defensive midfielders in the game during her 18 months at the Joie Stadium.

Hasegawa has made 41 appearances across all competitions since the start of last season and her hard-working performances saw her named in the PFA Barclays Women’s Super League Team of the Season as well as being shortlisted for the 2023 Ballon d’Or.

A key figure in City’s engine room, the Japan international set her sights on staying in Manchester so she can help the Club secure silverware as we continue to fight in the WSL, FA Cup and Continental Cup.

To celebrate Hasegawa’s contract extension, she spent some time in Waku Waku, a Japanese restaurant with a cool comic aesthetic.
