Ashton progressed to sign his scholar In July 2022, following a long association with Manchester City following his first registration with the Academy aged eight.
A clever, progressive player, capable out wide as well as in central areas, 2022/23 saw Muir progress to the Under-18s squad. He went on to make 20 appearances - scoring four goals and assisting seven in the process.
He carried his positive form into the 2023/24 campaign, where he made 21 appearances, scored nine goals and assisted six across the Under-18s and EDS.
Due to a long-term injury, Muir missed almost the entirety of 2024/25.
The forward did return for the final few weeks of the season, playing a key role in City’s PL2 play-off triumph in which he scored two goals in four games.
Fully fit for 2025/26, Muir is ready to be a more prominent figure for the EDS.
