Calm, ball-playing midfielder
Charlie has spent his whole youth career at Manchester City, having signed at the Club aged eight and progressed to be a scholar.
A calming presence in the centre of midfield with a excellent range of passing, Gray tested himself at Under-18s level in 2022/23, totalling 12 appearances before 19 appearances in the 2023/24 campaign.
This included 90 minutes in City’s FA Youth Cup final win over Leeds United at the Etihad.
Throughout the 2024/25 season, Gray was an instrumental player as City’s EDS won the PL2 title.
The holding midfielder played 20 league games, as well as seven of eight UEFA Youth League games, and constantly impressed with his scanning, positioning and link-up play. He’ll be part of the Elite Development Squad again in 2025/26.
