Composed, towering defender
Initially signed aged 13, Finley is a powerful figure at the heart of the defence for the EDS.
An England Under-18 international, Finley signed his first professional contract with City in July 2020 and was a key part of the Premier League 2 winning campaign in 2020/21.
Finley was then handed his first team debut in City’s 6-1 Carabao Cup win over Wycombe in September 2021.
He then spent the remainder of the 2021/22 season on loan at Swansea City.
The defender spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Stevenage, helping them claim the fourth-best defensive record in the entire division in their first season back in League One.
His progress continued at Hull City for the 2024/25 season, where he featured 11 times in all competitions for the Championship side.
And Burns will spend the current campaign out on loan again, this time with Reading as they look to fight for promotion from League One.
