TECHNICAL, RELIABLE DEFENDER
Thomas has been a part of City’s Academy since Under-8s.
Rhys has excellent technical ability, including a sublime first touch, and a strong ability to play with either foot with confidence.
A reliable defender who represents both club and country at youth level, Thomas made 10 appearances for the Under-18s in the 2023/24 campaign before a lengthy injury kept him off the pitch.
In 2024/25, Thomas was selected as the Under-18s captain for the season and helped guide the team to our Under-18 Premier League North success.
Despite a few injury setbacks, Rhys made 13 appearances across a handful of competitions and received a call-up to train with the Wales senior squad towards the end of the campaign.
He’ll be looking to build up more game time with the EDS throughout 2025/26.
