Striker Sergio Aguero handed Manchester City a boost on Tuesday as he returned to the training pitch.

Aguero sustained a rib injury in a car accident in Amsterdam at the end of September.

There were fears the Blues striker might be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and although there is no confirmed return date, Aguero’s appearance on the CFA turf is grounds for optimism.

Aguero has been in superb form early in the 2017/18 campaign, claiming seven goals and three assists in all competitions, and moving to within just one goal of Eric Brook’s all-time City scoring record of 177.
