It’s been a sensational start to the season for Manchester City – and today they were back on the training pitch ahead of their Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.
City are top of the Premier League and Saturday’s 5-0 win over Crystal Palace means they are the first side since Blackburn Rovers in 1958-59 to score five or more goals in three consecutive top-flight matches in the same season.
Their 21 league goals is more than they have managed at this stage of any season and they have bagged a remarkable 22 in their last five matches in all competitions, conceding just once.
It’s an incredible run but Pep Guardiola won’t be easing up just yet.
