The latest episode of the Official Man City Podcast has just landed, and the guest is one of the Club’s most beloved heroes.

Niall Quinn joined presenters Rob Pollard and Paul Dickov in the studio to discuss his storied career which saw him leave the Republic of Ireland for Arsenal before spells at the Blues and Sunderland.

The former striker arrived at Maine Road in March 1990 after progressing through the Gunners’ youth team.

Under the tutelage of Howard Kendall, he then helped City steer clear of relegation and to a 14th-placed finish in his first term before totalling 246 appearances and 78 goals during his time at the Club which lasted just over six years.

During that time, he tasted highs which included scoring on his debut and helping us to successive 5th-place top-flight finishes in 1991 and 1992 before lows such as relegation from the Premier League in his final term with City.

Quinn then enjoyed a hugely successful six years with Sunderland from 1996 to 2002 before becoming chairman and manager of the Black Cats in 2006. Although his stint in the dugout was short, he led the north east club back to the Premier League from the boardroom where they would stay until he departed in 2011.

In the newest instalment of the Official Man City Podcast, the 57-year-old details his entire career which includes how Kendall transformed his ability and playing head tennis with Tony Book.
