Saturday 10 October 2020 is World Mental Health Day, which this year is promoting a message of ‘mental health for all’.

Taking care of your mental wellbeing is important for everyone, including footballers and this year several Manchester City youngsters got together to discuss how they manage the pressure that comes with playing.

Elite Development Squad players, Tommy Doyle and Louie Moulden and Lewis Fiorini, who is now on loan at NAC Breda, spoke to the Academy’s Head of Sports Psychology, Jennie Killilea, as did Amelia Booth, Beth Smyth and Alicia Window from our Girls’ youth set-up.

The youngsters revealed the obstacles they’ve had to overcome in the early stage of their career and how they work with the Club to look after their mental wellbeing.

Watch the video above to hear what our young players had to say about football, their mental wellbeing and the support provided by City.
