Oliver Reiss says City’s Under-18 Premier League North unbeaten run is due to the top quality of Academy talent across multiple age groups.

In his first season in charge in 2024/25, City went on a 21-game winning run, with our last North league defeat dating back to August 24, 2024, when we fell to a 2-0 loss against Manchester United.

Since then, City have won 26 games and drawn two across last season and the current campaign.

And that run was maintained by City’s fantastic 4-2 comeback win over United on Saturday afternoon.

MATCH REPORT | UNITED 2-4 CITY

Goals from Tyrone Samba, Floyd Samba and Harrison Miles moved City to the top of the table with five wins from a possible five as we look to retain the title.

“I think it’s the quality of the players, we have it last season, we have it again in the squad this season,” said Reiss.

“And then it’s up to the guys again. Can we go on maximum and also for us as coaching staff, can we push them, how can we support them [to be] on the maximum of their possible performance.

“Every game has it’s own challenge. It’s a derby here, Wolves a few weeks ago. Different challenges always.

“Also when we see our players sometimes also being with the first-team, training with the first team, being involved with the EDS is a big challenge also for us to then bring them together as a team to have a performance like today in the second half.”
