Elite Development Squad midfielder Romeo Lavia praised the togetherness of the City players as a defining factor in our second successive PL2 title triumph.

A fine 3-1 win in front of 21,000 fans at Leeds on Friday night was enough to see our Under-23s retain the PL2 title and so make it back-to-back successes.

Holding midfielder Lavia has played a big part once again in our latest title triumph. And asked to identity the key quality in Brian Barry-Murphy’s talented young squad, he pointed to the togetherness within the group.

“We’ve come a long way and had tough periods so to win back-to-back PL2 titles is just crazy,” said the Belgian midfielder.

“I would say togetherness is the big factor. Our players are really good on and off the pitch and even when its tough we stick together.

“When we play the games you can see we are together.

“It’s like a family and everyone is involved – we’ve had a lot of injuries and guys like Liam (Delap) and Sam (Edozie) have been out but the guys who came in have done the job – otherwise we wouldn’t be here.”
