The path between Manchester City and Liverpool has been well trodden in recent years.
The two sides meet on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium, competing at the top end of the Premier League table, with managers who have a different view of how the game should be played.
But there are Clubs with plenty of shared heritage that always adds extra intrigue to proceedings.
