Benjamin Mendy proved a huge hit Stateside as the Manchester City star jetted across the pond ahead of last weekend’s Super Bowl spectacular.
Accompanied by CityTV’s Kelly O’Donnell, the first stop was the Big Apple where Benjy and Kelly went to the top of the Rockefeller Center to surprise a group of delighted City fans before the French defender then took in the sights and sounds of Manhattan via a horse-drawn carriage
From there it was an early morning flight over to snowy Minneapolis, the venue for the 2018 Super Bowl between New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.
In a packed schedule, Benjamin attended Radio Row where he mingled with presenters from more than 100 Radio and TV station as well as meeting stars such as UK grime legend Stormzy, Denver Broncos’ Manchester-born offensive tackle Menelik Watson, a lifelong Blue, and two-time Super Bowl winner Osi Umeniyiora, now part of BBC TV’s NFL presenting team
But it wasn’t all rest and play with Benjy ensuring he got down to work with some vital rehab work to further aid his recovery from his long-term knee injury.
Then, it was finally on to the main event at the spectacular US Bank Stadium for Super Bowl 52 where the Eagles prevailed 41-33 on what proved to be a real Super Sunday.
