And to get in the mood, we’ve been bringing you classic City goals against the Eagles all week.

Today it’s the turn of Shaun Wright-Phillips, a player loved by the Blues faithful who spent two spells at the club.

This goal, in a game at the Etihad in 2005, came during his first stint at City.

Joey Barton makes a driving run inside, plays a neat pass into Wright-Phillips, who drives on and blasts past Gabor Kiraly, from a tight angle.

City won the game 3-1, with Robbie Fowler scoring the second before Wright-Phillips got another at the death.

City finished the season in 8th place, narrowly missing out on a place in the Uefa Cup.
