Pep knows that the race is far from over and praises the team’s reaction to City’s late winners in the last couple of matches.

During Friday’s press conference, Pep Guardiola spoke on the difficulty of the Premier League and especially teams that have a defensive mind set when dealing with City.

“We have a lot of confidence, that last game showed me a lot and I saw immediately how we reacted.

“We recovered the ball quickly and get extra attacks after extra attacks.

“We have to keep going because maybe this will happen in the future. We have to adapted and improve and find a solution to attack more fluently and create more chances.”

However, Guardiola know just how good this City team is but there is no room for complacency in the Premier League.

“I cannot deny we are in better form than West Ham, we have better results than West Ham.

“But they have experience and have a manager with experience that can handle situations.

“We have to respect them and the best respect to them is to play serious.

“I can imagine the game being defended like against Southampton and Huddersfield.

“We have to be calm and prepare as well as possible.”

When compared with Guardiola’s other managed teams i.e. Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Guardiola refuses to compare this City with any of his previous clubs.

“I cannot deny that I am so satisfied with how we’ve done so far but we are not champions, we still need double the points.”
