Pep Guardiola says he is considering City’s options in the January transfer window.
As the New Year draws closer and with the rumour mill starting to rev up, the Blues boss admitted he may be required to recruit new blood, with Vincent Kompany having suffered another injury in the Manchester derby.
While John Stones remains sidelined and with Benjamin Mendy a long-term absentee, Guardiola conceded he may need to bring in defensive cover.
“We are thinking about it,” he told press. “I’m honest.
“In that department, we have few players. Maybe we are looking for another central defender due to the problems with Vincent.
“We have a lot of games. John Stones is out for four to five weeks.
“To handle all of the competitions we are in, we are in real trouble.
“I can’t assure you anything but we are thinking about it.
“We are going to see what will happen in January. We are thinking about what we will have to do in winter time.”
