Teenager Phil Foden revealed making his first-team debut against derby rivals Manchester United had been a ‘dream come true.’

Though City lost out 2-0 in what was their first outing of their US Tour, Foden produced a sparkling display with manager Pep Guardiola effusive in his praise of the Stockport-born boyhood City fan afterwards.

The 17-year-old revealed that news of his inclusion in City’s travelling tour party had been a shock – so much so that his Mum had to rush to Manchester Airport with his passport before the City group flew out to the United States!

Foden said he was hugely grateful for the faith shown in him by the City manager – and he also hailed the influence of star striker Sergio Aguero who has helped mentor the youngster.

And having been handed a taste of the big time, Foden is now hoping to be given another opportunity to shine in City’s next tour match against Real Madrid in Los Angeles next Wednesday.
