Pep Guardiola says that City’s FA Cup 6th round tie against Middlesbrough will be a final and that his team has to win.

City manager Guardiola realises that every game played in the FA Cup should be treated like a final and with the opportunity to play at Wembley in the semi-final, Pep is focussed on winning.

“I played at the old Wembley and as a manager I won the Champions League at the new one. Playing a semi there would be nice.

“What we decide for Stoke was to win that game, not thinking about Boro but it is a final. We have to put the best squad as possible in.”

Guardiola also had his say on other matters away from Middlesbrough in particular as he spoke on the playing style of his team after failing to score against Stoke on Wednesday night.

“I feel we are better but we must improve. When you defend better you attack better, when you attack better you defend better.”

We’ll see how the team reacts to Wednesday’s disappointing draw as a win at the Riverside Stadium takes us one step closer to cup glory.
