Pep Guardiola is refusing to get carried away with City’s start to the 2017/18 campaign.
The Blues are unbeaten in their seven games and head into Saturday’s home clash with strugglers Crystal Palace having won their last five in a row, scoring 19 and conceding just twice.
The Catalan has warned against complacency however, urging his team to maintain their focus on the task at hand and asserting his side are yet to hit their best form.
“Many things are better [than last season],” he told press. “Of course, we have been together a little more than one season.
“I know my players better now and they know me but there are five new players who need more time.
“Football is like this. We are better but look at how we played in the second half against West Brom – we suffered a lot.
“There is still a lot to improve. It is never-ending in football – there is always something to improve.
“We are in September. There are a lot of things to do and improve but that’s nice.”
