Pep Guardiola says Manchester City’s fans will have a crucial role to play in tomorrow’s Etihad derby against Manchester United.

A victory would see City seal the Premier League title and provide the perfect lift ahead of next Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg tie at home to Liverpool.

And after a gruelling campaign, Pep belives the backing of the Blues supporters will be vital tomorrow tea-time.

“We would like to feel that (special atmosphere) at home tomorrow,” said Pep.

“We want the people to come and fill the stadium and support the guys as they deserve it.

“They deserve it and all the credit as they defend the badge and the club the best way possible.

“I need their (the fans) support as we are so tired.

“United have had a week to rest but we haven’t had much time to recover as Anfield was so tough physically and mentally.

“That’s why it’s so important that tomorrow we feel their support.”
