“We knew how important this game was,” he stated. “We needed the win.

“We entered the game really focused. We controlled and dominated and got a positive result. We deserved to win.

“It’s our third win of the season against Arsenal, which is very good for us.”

On his penalty heroics, the shot-stopper expressed his joy, crediting City’s backroom staff for their aid.

“We study the shooters of the opponents – the team, the goalkeeping manager and the other goalkeepers,” he added.

“It helps us a lot when it comes to make the decision at the right time.”

Ederson also spoke highly of manager Pep Guardiola, who reached a City milestone with 100 games in charge.

“He’s a manager that has evolved the way City play,” the goalkeeper continued. “We must congratulate him for the milestone.

“I wish he can make 100 more games as Manchester City manager – at least!”

With little time to reflect as Chelsea visit the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Ederson has urged his side to remain focused.

“It’s very important for us,” he declared. “We’re starting the last part of the season, which is the most important.

“Now, we have to recover well. As of tomorrow, we will focus on Chelsea and think of the next game.

“It will be really tough – really difficult. Chelsea have a lot of very talented players but we are in good shape and we are very confident.”
