Former Manchester City star Elano says he owes a lifelong debt of gratitude to the Club and our fans, describing his time at the Etihad as a joy.
The Brazilian playmaker made a huge impact in his two years at the Club between 2007 and 2009, scoring several memorable goals – including one extraordinary free-kick against Newcastle - as well as providing countless assists.
Elano was back in Manchester for the first time in nine years earlier this month, receiving a rapturous reception where he was introduced to the fans on the pitch before our 3-1 derby win over United.
And he also found time to sit down for a wide-ranging interview with City TV in which he reflected on his memorable time with the Blues.
Elano also spoke of his admiration for the beautiful football overseen by Pep Guardiola, as well as expressing his delight at the impact made by City’s current crop of Brazilian stars.

“Manchester City is a special club to me and I will always be grateful to the Club and to the city of Manchester,” Elano said.
“City are world class now and the fans deserve it as they are very special.
“I came at a transitional phase but we made the fans happy and believed we could win titles like the Premier League.
“I was happy to play my part and to be here was a joy.
“I just want to thank you all. I am one of you and playing for this club is something I will remember for the rest of my life.”
